Ride for Rare with Team CACNA1A!
Join Us for an Unforgettable Ride Through NYC!

The TD Five Boro Bike Tour is one of New York City’s most iconic events — a 40-mile, completely TRAFFIC-FREE ride through all five boroughs, crossing five legendary bridges and welcoming more than 32,000 cyclists from around the world. Riders of all abilities come together for one unforgettable day in NYC.

We’re Inviting YOU to Be Part of TeamCACNA1A and Ride for Rare!

The CACNA1A Foundation is an official charity partner of the TD Five Boro Bike Tour, and we are building a team of 15 passionate riders committed to making a real difference for individuals and families living with rare CACNA1A-related neurological disorders.

Why Ride with Team CACNA1A?

  • Guaranteed entry (we cover all fees!)
  • Exclusive Wave 1 start (less congestion, fewer delays, VIP breakfast, and a celebration at the finish line!)
  • Custom CACNA1A Foundation cycling jersey
  • The chance to make a life-changing impact for those affected by rare CACNA1A-related disorders

💜 How to Join and Begin Fundraising:

Step 1️⃣ - Register with Bike New York (click this link)

There is no cost to you, but you must register by April 22 at 5:00 pm and commit to raising or donating at least $1,000 in support of the CACNA1A Foundation.

Bike rentals and e-bikes are available, with easy pickup near the start and drop-off at the finish.

Step 2️⃣ - Create your personal fundraising page (click this link)

This makes it easy to share your story, track donations, and reach your goal — and we’ll support you every step of the way.

👉 All funds raised go directly toward advancing our mission.

💜 Every Dollar You Raise Helps Us:

  • Accelerate Breakthroughs: Fund critical research to better understand and treat CACNA1A-related neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Empower Families: Provide essential education and support to help families navigate the complexities of a rare diagnosis.
  • Bridge the Distance: Offer travel scholarships so families can join us in Houston, Texas, for our 3rd Creating Connections Community Conference—ensuring no family is left behind due to cost.

Join us for this incredible event and make a difference in the lives of those impacted by CACNA1A-related disorders.

💜 A Note from Our Founder

When my daughter was diagnosed with a CACNA1A-related disorder, our world changed overnight. Like so many rare disease families, we were suddenly facing uncertainty and unanswered questions.

The CACNA1A Foundation was created so families like mine would not feel alone — and to push science forward faster, together.

When you ride for Team CACNA1A, you’re doing more than participating in an incredible New York City tradition. You’re funding critical research, supporting families, and helping bring hope where it’s needed most.

Thank you for considering riding alongside us!

With gratitude,
Lisa Manaster
